Cargo Noir-strategier

Några initiala funderingar kring strategier i Cargo Noir. Detta gäller främst för spel en mot en, men vissa strategier kan säkert även gälla vid spel med flera spelare. Skrev i forumet på BGG och orkade inte översätta till svenska så håll till godo:

Special Cards
Get more boats as soon as you can. Both of them, quick! Advantage of boats is very nice. Also a syndicate is very useful. Two syndicates are probably not going to be worth it. A warehouse is so so. Two warehouses seems unnecessary.

Point scoring cards
Always get the most expensive one you can afford (obvious). But get your specials first.

Type of Cargo
Try to aim always for a lot of diffent cargo. It's easy to get 6-7 different kinds, while tough to get 5 of a single type (if your opponent is awake). Black Market will benefit a "different cargo" strategy. Black Market is always good to visit on the turn before trading for extra options, not so crucial other turns (use casino with extra boats instead). Try to look ahead and plan your trades before collecting, you need to make the most out of the trades.

Money vs Cargo
Money advantage is key! Try to avoid running out of money, or your opponent will control the game on the next turn. When playing two players you need to focus on control and play aggressive. With more players I guess it's better to focus on efficency for yourself (because it's harder to control the game), but in a two player game every point you deny your opponent is a point for you.

Bidding in ports
Try to avoid to visit the 1 cargo port. Don't bid low (with the hope of raising later) if you don't have syndicate. It's seldom worth to pay more than two coins per cargo. If you need to raise so you'll pay more than two coins per cargo: withdraw instead. Your opponent is probably paying a high enough prize + you'll get instant money boost (money back plus two coins from syndicate). Always consider the option to go to the market (one random for free), instead of moving to a port. But don't do it too much (it's a very passive move in 2p).
